NAAS ventures into Mexico's innovative Art Scene
NAAS recently set out on a fascinating adventure around Mexico's bright art and design scene, where they came across a multitude of cutting edge exhibitions and creative hotspots. Every location, from immerse design experiences to galleries of modern art, provided a different viewpoint on the nexus of communication, creativity, and culture.
This year marks the 20th anniversary of Zona Maco, a premier art fair that showcases a diverse array of contemporary art, design, photography, and antiquities. With 212 exhibitors from 25 countries, Zona Maco promises an artistry experience like no other.
At the exhibition stands, visitors encounter an eclectic mix of sculptures, installations, and galleries featuring works by renowned Latin American artists such as Arnold Coen, Carlos Mérida, Rufino Tamayo, Diego Rivera, and Leonora Carrington. These masterpieces engage in a captivating dialogue that spans various artistic styles and cultural influences.
In the Maco area, visitors can explore thought photographs that delve into themes of race, gender, urban culture, the human body, and everyday life, offering poignant reflections on contemporary social contexts.

Also Philia Exhibitions is a nomadic programme that sits alongside the gallery’s permanent spaces in Geneva, Mexico, New York, and Singapore, taking the form of group and solo exhibitions in unique and exemplary locations around the world. Each transient exhibition features unique works by emerging and established designers and artists. Previous exhibitions have included Transatlántico, a fully breathtaking exhibition of sculptural design in Mexico City, and Héritages, a group show staged at Le Corbusier’s Cité Radieuse, Marseille.
